The Chattogram Challengers are a professional cricket team based in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The franchise was founded in 2015 and is owned by DBL Group, one of the largest textile manufacturers in Bangladesh.
Initially named Chittagong Vikings, they participated in their first season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 tournament during its third edition held from November to December 2015. They finished as runners-up after losing to Comilla Victorians.
In 2019, ahead of BPL's seventh edition, Chittagong Vikings were rebranded as Chattogram Challengers with a new logo and jersey design but retained most players from previous seasons.
Chattogram Challengers have been consistent performers throughout their participation history so far reaching playoffs every time except for once when they failed to qualify for it. In BPL-7 under Mahmudullah Riyad’s captaincy; they made it all the way up-to finals only to lose against Rajshahi Royals who won their maiden title that year.
With an impressive track record over five years since inception coupled with strong financial backing and fan support; there is no doubt that this team has become an integral part of Bangladeshi cricket landscape today!
